You're A STAR!

Let your light shine and be A STAR for Jesus. How can we do that?

Let’s dive into Mark 4. Jesus uses a parable discussing four different ways we as believers walk and believe in him. The first type of believer Jesus illustrates is the one who hear God’s word, but Satan immediately strips the message away from the persons heart Mark 4:3-4. The second type of believer is one who hear God’s word and receives it, but since their roots aren’t deep (lack of Godly knowledge), they don’t act on any truths they hear Mark 4:5-6. The third type of believer is one who hear God’s word but the cares of this “worldly” life chokes the word in them and nothing is fulfilled Mark 4:7. The fourth and last believer is one who has seeds planted in good soil and becomes this ripen mature Christian who is a hearer and a doer of the word. This believer reaps more than what’s planted, and they bear much fruit Mark 4:8.

Becoming a star for Christ takes courage and an incredible act of change. We have to become the fourth believer Jesus was talking about in the parable. Our hearts and minds must have this interchanging occurrence, wanting to do everything God-like because living for God is the ultimate purpose. We have to fully surrender ourselves to God in order for our light to shine. We can’t be the Christians we desire if we are always in hiding, afraid of choosing to fully live for God, and letting go of this worldly nature. We can’t be afraid to release ourselves from the ways of this world, because living for God is what fills the void in our hearts and gives us the ability to be the light for Christ. We have to transform ourselves for Christ. Jesus reveals truth in this parable, and we have to understand the vitality of it. We are his children, and we must have this urgency to be more like him. We have to keep our attention on Christ and do what is right to be that light for him, and we have to start the change immediately. Don’t let the conformity of this world cause you to lose your soul.

With this parable we can see that the word is extremely important. Applying it to your everyday life is the key that will create the change to allow you to be the mature Christian who bears much fruit. Don’t compromise your relationship with God for the ways of this world, because you will miss out on the awesomeness of God. Having a pure genuine relationship with God is so much more special and elevating because he makes life worth living. Be the seed that fell on the fertile soil because God has imbedded us with a seed of everything he already is, we just have to water it by meditating on his word day and night Psalm 1:2. Our light has to shine in order for people to draw near to us, and we have to be ingrained in God’s goodness to plant the seed for the footpath of better living. We can’t be afraid to live for God (fully), because he wasn’t afraid to die for us. We have to understand that there’s power we obtain from the holy spirit that instructs us to act on what the word of God says, but it doesn’t happen until we accept God’s full dwelling. Our life then changes because God provides us with the fruits of the spirit Galatians 5:22-23. We have to be listeners and doers for the kingdom. That is how we let our light shine like the STARS we are.
